Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-05-10

These Terms govern your use of candio.net (the 'Site'). By accessing or submitting any form on the Site, you agree to these Terms. The Site is operated by Marcelo Candio as a personal portfolio and writing platform.

Use of the Site

You may browse, read, and link to the Site's content freely. You agree not to: (a) attempt to compromise the Site's security or availability; (b) submit automated, fraudulent, or abusive form entries; (c) impersonate other people in comment submissions; (d) post spam or unlawful content. I reserve the right to remove any submission at my discretion.

Form submissions (contact, newsletter, comments)

When you submit a form on the Site, you agree that the data you provide is accurate and not sourced fraudulently. You retain copyright over the content you submit but grant me a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, archive, and respond to it for the purposes outlined in the Privacy Policy. Comments may be visible to other site visitors; do not submit anything you don't wish to be public.

Intellectual property

All Site content (text, images, code samples, blog posts) is © Marcelo Candio unless otherwise noted. Code snippets explicitly published in blog posts are released under an MIT-style license unless otherwise stated; text and images are not. You may quote short excerpts of blog posts with attribution and a link back. For any other reuse, contact me via the contact form.

Third-party services

The Site uses third-party services (Cloudflare Turnstile, Resend, Supabase, Vercel, Google Analytics) as described in the Privacy Policy. These services have their own terms which apply when you interact with the Site. I am not responsible for the availability or content of external sites linked from the Site.

Disclaimer of warranty

The Site is provided 'as is' without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. I do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Blog content reflects my personal opinions and experience; it is not professional advice. Do not rely on Site content for production decisions without independent verification.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site, including loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities. My total liability for any claim related to the Site is limited to the amount you have paid me in the past 12 months (which is typically zero, since the Site is free).

Changes to these Terms

I may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in an updated 'Last updated' date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, where I am based. Any disputes arising from your use of the Site shall be resolved in the courts of Portugal, without giving effect to any conflict of laws principles.
